Adventure is what many audiences expect from New Zealand. Queenstown offers jet boats, the gondola and, in winter, skiing; Fiordland adds fiord cruises and walks; and Aoraki / Mount Cook National Park has the Hooker Valley Track. Operators are licensed and safety briefings are strict, which is part of what makes the content credible.
What can I film?
- Jet boating through river canyons near Queenstown.
- Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound in Fiordland.
- The Hooker Valley Track below Aoraki / Mount Cook.
- Skiing near Queenstown and Wānaka from about mid-June.
What should I know?
Mountain weather changes quickly and tracks close in storms; check DOC's track status before you set out. Operators set their own camera, age and health rules. Drones on conservation land need a DOC permit, and many national parks rarely grant one.
